This book is published by a relatively unknown publishing company. I am deliberately using 'relatively unknown', because a simple Google search does not seem to show that this is a well-established company. Nonetheless, this is beside the point. What is important is that those in academia should welcome the fact that emerging, and possibly black-owned, companies are appearing to contest for a space in the publishing industry. Quality in scholarship is sacrosanct. I am saying this because of various infractions in the book, including its technical layout. Kudos for the dust cover! Perhaps of particular importance is the subtitle, Some Critical Perspectives. This grabbed my attention. Critical perspectives are what the country needs to shape theoretical and policy discourses. Does the book live up to the expectations?
