The business environment has undergone substantial changes, which oblige organisations to constantly revise their business models so that they continue to meet customer needs profitably. To date, public value in most parastatals is created by adherence to standards, while changes in the business environment require intrapreneurship to create value effectively and efficiently. High-performing parastatals committed to creating unique solutions for customers are the new normal as these organisations have a mandate to provide essential services for public consumption.
