This paper aims to assess the effects of supply chain strategies and policies on supply chain performance in state-owned entities (SOEs) in South Africa. There is a gap in the literature on the linkage between supply chain strategies and policies and their influence on supply chain performance in South African SOEs. Supply Chain Management (SCM) plays a significant role in SOEs delivering their services and contributing to their socio-economic objectives. Empirical data for this research was collected from 300 supply chain management practitioners in state-owned entities based in Gauteng Province in South Africa. To evaluate the hypothesised correlations, hierarchical regressions were employed to analyse the data. The results reveal that supply chain strategy, Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment, and the Constitution significantly and positively predicted supply chain performance.
