Scholarly discourses and contestation of ideas are critical for the development of academic disciplines such as informing curriculum matters. These ideational contestations also help us in the intellectual project and advancement of knowledge. This seems to be at the centre of Kgothatso Shai's scholarly work in this regard. The author makes attempt to demonstrate that there are those scholars who either underestimate or at times trivialise complex scholarship issues that may require sophistication and thorough research and understanding.
