Discipline management in the public sector enhances excellence and commitment to work. If properly administered, employees can improve their performance and service delivery to the public. Poor management of discipline in the public sector draws criticism from the public. Public service managers are expected to uphold ethical standards while dealing with disciplinary cases. However, in some instances managers are influenced or experience interference as they administer discipline. This causes delays in finalising disciplinary cases and interference results in unfair ruling on such cases.
